4.3. PROGRAM REGISTRATION, LICENSES, LOGIN AND UPDATES

A) Register:
Start AKTS-Thermal Safety Software. Then register: on the menu ‘Registration’ point to ‘Register’ (only requested for users that will have the software on networked computers or on computers that can communicate with the outside):



Fill in the corresponding fields and click on 'Next':




B) Get more information license and check your account status:
Finally on the menu ‘Account’ point to ‘Get more information’ or ‘Check Account Status’ and enter your ‘Username’ and ‘Password’. Once done, you can get information about purchasing of a software license and get an offer online. Licenses and Login access are given to the users only when AKTS AG has received the payment in AKTS bank account.



Several licenses can be granted on one single account for using the program from several different computers. This enables you to give the username and password to your collaborators to use the program. Just follow step D below if you have more then one license.

C) Login:
Simply press the button login and enter the username and password again. For the next working sessions you will just need to enter through the login:

D) Additional licenses:
Simply repeat the "downloading" step on the selected computer. On the menu 'Registration', point to 'License activation':



Then enter your 'Username' and 'Password' and click on 'OK'



You need only to repeat the "downloading" and 'License activation' step D on each computer where you want to use the software. Then simply press the button login and enter the username and password again (Step C). For the next working sessions you will just need to enter through the login step C.

E) Updates:
At each start the software checks if an update version of AKTS-Thermal Safety software is available. This online feature makes possible that the users get access to the latest update. If an upgrade version of AKTS-Thermal Safety software is detected then simply click on 'OK'. 



Start the update process by clicking on 'Update now'. The actual software version will be automatically removed and replaced by the newest version. For all users which have the annual maintenance package, all updates are FREE of charge and give access to the latest version with the latest features.



If for any reason you are encountering problems after clicking on the button 'Update now', then simply download the latest version from:

Difficulties may arise if for security reasons your network settings do not permit the downloading of executable files (*.exe).

Remarks: AKTS-Thermal Safety Software security is not assessed by using a ‘physical key’ but using instead an ‘online key’ (username - password). Access and validity of the user license is checked online. It means that the users must have an internet connection for entering its Username and Password. AKTS servers automatically check the validity of the username and password (license validity) and give the authorization for software use. Once logged the software can then be used offline. This online feature makes possible that the users get access to the latest update. For all users which have the 'annual maintenance package' or use the 'One time use' option, all updates are FREE of charge and give access to the latest version with the latest features. Users that have Get more informationd a license have one year free subscription for update. AKTS-Thermal Safety Software is now also available with a physical ‘key’ that has to be fixed on the computer for license activation. This option is requested for users that will not have the software on networked computers or on computers that cannot communicate with the outside.
