3.3. PROGRAMMING

Using the boundary conditions expressed by eqs. 3.11-12 and eqs. 3.10 or 3.18 which describe the heat transfer in the bulk, the temperature profile inside all layers can be computed by Finite Element Analysis. The initial temperature has to be introduced for all layers at t =0. The strong internal gradients will be calculated very precisely due to the variable step lengths (Fig. 3.2).
