4.4.3. ANALYSIS RESULTS
- During the calculation the change in the concentration profile of the migrant
and stimulant in the packaging can be displayed under the tabbar ‘2D’. Once the
calculation is finished, the concentration profile in the material at a specific
time (between time 0 and time tc) can be displayed by moving the mouse pointer
along the grey bar underneath the plot.

- The concentration of migrant in food at any contact time can be obtained under the
tabbar ‘Migration’. In the section ‘Results’ contact time between the packaging
material and the food is indicated. The mass and the concentration of the
migrant in the food at tc are computed and displayed. The value percentage of
migrant in food at tc is the percentage of migrant which diffused relative to
the initial amount present in the packaging material.
The change of the migrant concentration is represented from time 0 to time tc.
Using the mouse pointer, move the cursor along the curve to calculate the
concentration of migrant at a specific time. The corresponding values are
depicted in the section ‘Results’. If needed, the diffusion coefficient, the
initial migrant concentration in the material and the contact time can be
modified. More generally, any previous window (packaging properties or
temperature profile) can be re-entered from this point and the parameters can be
modified. Once the ‘Run FE Analysis’ button has been clicked, the migration
curve is calculated and the corresponding computed data are automatically
updated. The new migrant concentration can then be viewed for comparison.

- Computed values can be exported for subsequent evaluation. On the menu
‘Data’, simply point to ‘View / Print Report’, or ‘Export Migration Data’ or
‘Export Concentration Profile’.
