8. Customize chart

8.1. Titles

Four type of titles are available on each chart :

• Main title : displayed at the top of the chart ;
• Subtitle : displayed below the main title ;
• Subfoot : displayed under the chart ;
• Foot : displayed at the bottom of the chart, under the subfeet.

To access the titles, use the menu Chart → Titles... or with a right-click on the chart.

Each title is customizable, as its border and  background. To customize a title, right-click on the title and choose Properties....

8.2. Background, border and margins

It is possible to modify the chart background color and / or add a background image.

To access the properties of the background, the borders and the margins, use the menu Chart → Background... or right-click on the chart.

8.3. Themes

Themes allow to protect the visual style of a graphic in order to re-use it quickly another time.

The theme is saved in a *.thm file that can be used with any other Calisto Processing software.

To access the themes management window, use the menu Chart → Themes... or right-click  on the chart.

The list of themes by defaut present in the directory "Themes" is shown on the left side of the chart. To download a theme located in a different directory, click on Browse....

When a topic is selected, it is shown on the chart thumbnail on the right of the window in order to give an overview before validation.

To apply the theme, click on  OK after having chosen the theme.

To save the current theme, click on Save Current Theme...

8.4. Customize Endo/Exo arrows

Endo / Exo arrows appear as soon as at least one HeatFlow signal is displayed on a chart. It is possible to customize the display of these arrows or hide them.

To access the  Endo / Exo arrows  customization window, use the menu Chart → Endo/Exo... , right-click on the chart or double-click on the name "Endo" or "Exo" on the chart.

If the "Save as default" is ticked when the user clicks on OK, the settings are saved and will appear automatically when launching the software. These parameters are common to all users.

8.5. Customize axes

There are so many possibilities to customize each axis. To access the customization axes window, use the menu
Chart → Axes... , right-click on the chart or double-click on an axis.

8.6. Customize series

The information window on the series displays information on the series and allows to customize their line. To access this information window, right-click on the signal's name in the treeview or on the serie's line on the chart and then click on Properties...

	Double-clicking on a serie can cause two types of reaction : For mathematical treatment, it opens the "editing" mode of treatment; For other signals, it opens the serie information window

8.7. Add and customize a note or an image on the chart

8.7.1. Add a note

The icon allows you to add a note on the chart. Each note can be customized in numerous ways : font size and color, border style, background, and so on.

Positioning the arrow of a note

One of the particularity of the note is its ability to display an arrow from the note to indicate an element on the chart. To see the arrow, choose the tab Arrow in the customize note window, and then click on Visible.
To move the end of the arrow, the customization note window must be closed. Click on the tip of the arrow with the mouse  and move the arrow holding down your mouse button.

	Tip
	Right-click on the chart and choose Fix note to automatically create an note which arrow points where the chart has been clicked.

8.8 Customize legend

To see the legend on the chart, use the menu Chart → Show/hide legend or click on the icon. Once the legend is displayed, right-click on it , then select Properties... or double-click on the legend.

In the customization legend window, there are several properties similar to the ones in notes :

• Font style ;
• Border style ;
• Background.

Furthermore, it is  possible to position the legend outside the chart. To do so, use the buttons in the  Properties tab of the customization legend window.

8.9. Draw on chart

The button enables to draw on the chart. When the drawing is activated, the cursor is shaped as follow:  and lines can be drawn on the chart.

	Tip
	To draw lines, hold the Shift key down while drawing lines.

You can change the style of the line, its thickness and color by clicking on it in order to bring up the customization lines window. It is also possible to tie a line to an axis so that when the axis moves vertically, the line moves along.

	Tip
	To quickly copy the style from one line to another, use the   icon of the customize lines window. The cursor is now shaped as : . As long as this cursor is activated, select other lines to give them the same properties of the original line. To cancel the copyied style, right-click on the chart. The cursor returns to its original form.

8.10. Customize mathematical construction lines

When mathematical constructions are present on the chart, for example, after the calculation of a glass transition, it is possible to customize the design of these related constructions lines. Right-click on the line to be edited and choose Edit construction...
